The Micro Focus Shanghai INSPIRE team continued to run their Barrier-Free Facilities Contribution Program, a scheme designed to give those who need extra support while out and about access to up-to-date information about accessibility in public places.
With the goal to create a barrier-free world, volunteers visited popular landmarks in Shanghai – People’s Square and People’s Park – to collect important information about the barrier-free facilities available. The information gathered was then added to a mini guide created with those living with mobility concerns in mind.
The guide can be accessed via instant messaging service, WeChat, and is a lifeline for those who feel anxious about visiting public locations without knowing what facilities are available beforehand.
As part of Micro Focus INSPIRE, our companywide Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) program, all employees receive four days a year to volunteer to give back and make a difference.
